Weatherfast Premium Timber Oil

Product catalog summary
Description: Weatherfast Premium Timber Oil is a modified, low odour resin coating designed for timber surfaces where a natural grain appearance is desired. It includes UV inhibitors for protection and dries quickly to a non-greasy satin finish.
Uses: Ideal for open-grained timbers and decks, providing a temporary 'natural' wet look without the need for stripping due to build-up.
Properties:
  • Colour: Light amber
  • Coverage: 9-12 sq. metres per litre per coat, depending on timber porosity
  • Drying Time: Touch dry in 1 hour at 20°C and 50% relative humidity
  • Recoating: Apply multiple coats wet on wet to avoid varnish-like build-up
  • Weight/Litre: 840g/litre
  • Volume Solids: 24%
  • Flash Point: 37°C
  • Clean Up: Use Weatherfast Brushing Thinners
Preparation: For teak and other timbers, sand and clean the surface to remove oxidized material. Use Acetone or Methylated Spirits to clean and prepare the timber for better oil penetration.
Application: Apply using a brush, roller, or pad. Ensure adequate coating by repeating application as absorption occurs. Allow a minimum of 4 hours drying before light foot traffic.
Transportation: Classified as a flammable liquid, Dangerous Goods Class 3.2. Available in 20 litre, 4 litre, 1 litre, and 500 ml sizes.
Precautions: Ensure adequate ventilation, avoid open flames, and do not use in damp conditions or below 10°C.
First Aid: In case of ingestion or eye contact, seek medical advice. For skin contact, wash with soap and water. For eye contact, irrigate with fresh water for 15 minutes. If inhaled, move to fresh air and rest.

Primary use is for open grained timbers/decks where a temporary “natural” wet look is desired without the cumulative effect of build-up coats being produced which would involve eventual stripping. Once drying commences further coats will only be deposited on top of the previous layer and thus produce a “varnish like” film. WEATHERFAST PREMIUM TIMBER OIL U.N. NUMBER: TEAK: Sand down/caustic scrub the surface until all traces of oxidised material are removed. When the natural honey coloured timber is produced a liberal wash down with Acetone or Methylated Spirits on clean rags is recommended to (a) remove the sanding dust and (b) to produce a dry, oil-free, porous state of timber that will increase the penetration of the Norglass Premium Timber Oil. OTHER TIMBERS: Treat the same as above. On more dense wood the penetration of Norglass Premium Timber Oil will obviously be restricted therefore the less number of coats...
