SOFT COPPER ANTI-FOULING DESCRIPTION: A soluble matrix coating designed to resist marine growth without Developing a build up of coats. Effective for up to 10 months (subject to conditions). USES: For below waterline areas on vessels that are continuously immersed in salt water other than those exceeding 10 knots. Ideal for displacement craft or those requiring more frequent slipping. Not to be used on aluminium craft, stern drive units or alloy sail drives as severe corrosion will result. PROPERTIES (at 20degreesC) COLOUR: Reddish-brown or blue *see Application TOXICITY: Toxic, see ‘Precautions’ and First Aid FINISH: Semi-gloss COVERAGE: A maximum of 7sq.metres/litre should not be exceeded DRYING TIME: Touch dry in 2 hours at 50% relative humidity RECOATING: After 4 hours. Two coats recommended THINNING: Not normally recommended but in hot weather up to 5% NORGLASS EPOXY THINNERS may be added. PREPARATION: Unpainted timber, Fibreglass or Ferro-cement should be primed with 1 or more coats of NORGLASS SHIPSHAPE Primer-Undercoat. Allow to cure for a minimum of 24 hours then sand to a flat finish before applying anti-fouling. New steel surfaces must first be primed with NORGLASS EPOXY TAR and overcoated with SHIPSHAPE. Spent anti-foulings should be high pressure water cleaned and wet sanded if necessary. Remove all loose and flaking paint and spot prime bare areas as described above.
