This compact unit plugs into the ships AIS to transmit AIS position data and adds independent Rate-of-Turn (ROT) and smoothed Heading (HDG) data. It wirelessly transmits this data to your laptop/ tablet running navigation software and charts (ENCs), giving you the precise and stable information you need to support many types of basic manoeuvres. It is best suited to pilots wanting to use the Pilot Plug but also wanting better H DG or ROT data, which is almost never available from the ship. GyroPilot’s features include the ability to link with other sensors to get more independent data and augment it's performance, allowing the user to upgrade to a more robust and sophisticated system.
