VA2 2-pack high-durability marine varnish Nautix VA2 is the ultimate in varnish performance, combining excellent chemical and abrasion resistance with superb gloss. This 2-pack polyurethane varnish provides a perfect shine and protection on wood or on 2-pack enamels (Nautix L2). VA2 formulation contains UV absorbers to give it the longest possible life, and affords a very high quality and hardness, exceptional resistance to impacts, to abrasion and to ultraviolet degradation. This product must be applied above the waterline. Check undercoat TDS for more information. Over bare wood • Rough sand with 400 grit to favour adherence. • Remove dust before application of varnish. Technical recommendation Over previously varnished wood or painted surface • Check the condition of substrate : the former paint must not come unstuck from the support or must not crumble. Scrape with a brush to check support quality and remove any loosing paint. • Substrate in good condition : - Wash with a suitable detergent, rinse with fresh water (high-pressure water blasting or with brush) and allow to dry. - Degrease the surface with Nautix SD. And then abrade with P400 grade paper. - Remove dust before application of varnish. • Substrate in poor condition : - Remove all previous coatings. - Surface must be degreased with Nautix SD and dust free. - Rough sand with 120 grit to favour adherence. - Rinse with fresh water and let dry. - Abrade with P400 grade paper. - Remove dust before application of varnish. SAFETY INFORMATION Substrate must be cleaned, dust-free and dried. It's recommended to work in dust-free environment. Strictly respect drying time before recovering. VA2 is compatible only with 2-pack undercoat (U2, HPE, PE) or 2-pack enamel (L2). For more information, please check TDS. • Work in well-ventilated area (ensure adequate ventilation during use), wear suitable protective clothing, gloves, glasses and eye/face protection. Do not apply when there is a chance of condensation forming on the substrate (Dew-Point) : substrate, ambient air and product temperatures must be close.
