1-pack high-durability marine varnish PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Nautix STARWOOD is a 1-pack long-term marine varnish which enhances wood beauty. It also creates a barrier against atmospheric conditions thanks to UV absorbers which protect the wood and prolong the lifespan of the coating. Recommended for natural wood, Nautix STARWOOD will give to your boat a long lasting natural finish and a very good wooden protection. Indeed this tough and durable finish is resistant to surface scratches, oil, and other contaminations. This product must be applied above the waterline. Over previously varnished wood • Check the condition of substrate : the former paint must not come unstuck from the support or must not crumble. Scrape with a brush to check support quality and remove any loosing paint. • Substrate in good condition : - Wash with a suitable detergent, rinse with fresh water (high-pressure water blasting or with brush) and allow to dry. - Degrease the surface with Nautix SD. And then abrade with P400 grade paper. - Remove dust before application of varnish. • Substrate in poor condition : - Remove all previous coatings. - Surface must be degreased with Nautix SD and dust free. - Rough sand with 120 grit to favour adherence. - Rinse with fresh water and let dry. - Abrade with P400 grade paper. - Remove dust before application of varnish. SAFETY INFORMATION Substrate must be cleaned, dust-free and dried. It's recommended to work in dust-dree environment. Strictly respect drying time before recovering. STARWOOD is compatible will all wood substrates except oily wood. For more information, please check TDS. • Work in well-ventilated area (ensure adequate ventilation during use), wear suitable protective clothing, gloves, glasses and eye/face protection. Unprotected person must be kept away from treatment area. Dispose of protective gloves and equipment after use. • Read the label safety section for Health and Safety Information before application. STARWOOD 1-pack high-durability marine varnish Application methods : brush, roller, spray gun. Apply between 10 and 30°C (ideally inside with hygrometry rate no greater than 85%). Do not apply when there is a chance of condensation forming on the substrate (Dew-Point) : substrate, ambient air and product temperatures must be close. Homogenize the product with a blender. Do not apply this paint at the end of the day because air moisture could cause loss of gloss. It’s recommended to sand with P400 grade paper between coats. Respect carefully overcoating time.
