METAPOX Adhesion promoter for epoxy coatings over metal surfaces PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Nautix METAPOX is an adhesion promoter for epoxy coatings over metal surfaces. This new-generation product provides high adhesion between epoxy primer and metal. METAPOX offers a simple, fast and reliable solution to Epoxy-to-metal adhesion issues. This colourless non-film-forming product prepares chemically the metal surfaces to Epoxy bonding. After sanding or sandblasting, oxidation of metal surface will arrive shortly, and that’s why it’s recommended to respect strictly overcoating periods for METAPOX application, and then epoxy primer. Nautix METAPOX was successfully tested on Aluminium, steel and stainless steel in highly demanding conditions. On difficult accessible areas, use SCOURING ACID before paint application, and rinse with fresh water asap. Ensure the substrate to be dried, degreased with Nautix SD, and free of dust before paint application. Apply Nautix METAPOX. Remove old paints to start new preparation from metal substrate. Remove all superficial oxidation by mechanical scouring with P40 or P80 to create adhesion. On difficult accessible areas, use SCOURING ACID before paint application, and rinse with fresh water asap. Ensure the substrate to be dried, degreased with Nautix SD, and free of dust before paint application. Apply Nautix METAPOX. Technical recommendation For metal substrate preparation, we recommend to use mechanical scouring by using special metal disk paper. Do not use thinner. METAPOX should be applied as soon as possible (3 hours maximum) after scouring preparation and clean the surface (to avoid oxidation). Apply METAPOX uniformly and without excess by moistening the surface. Recommended primers EPOXYGARD, or PE. SAFETY INFORMATION · Work in well-ventilated area (ensure adequate ventilation during use), wear suitable protective clothing, gloves, glasses and eye/face protection. METAPOX Adhesion promoter for epoxy coatings over metal surfaces Application methods : brush, roller. Apply between 10 and 40°C (ideally inside with hygrometry rate no greater than 85%). Do not apply when there is a chance of condensation forming on the substrate (Dew-Point) : substrate, ambient air and product temperatures must be close. Avoid applying in adverse weather conditions : strong wind, strong sunlight, high/low temperatures, high humidity or rain.
