A2 ANTIFOULING Copper-free antifouling for aluminium hull SUT • The printing process may render some of the colour samples imperfectly. We recommend testing the paint before committing to a colour. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Nautix A2 is a mixed matrix antifouling especially developed for aluminium hulls. It is 100% copper free. Nautix A2 has a good efficiency against seaweed except in case of high proliferation of barnacles. It is particularly recommend for sailing-, fishing-, cruising, and motor-boats. Use SCOURING ACID for inaccessible areas. • Apply asap 1 thin coat of ACRALU or METAPOX. • Overcoat quickly with adapted primer to bare substrate : PA, HPE or Epoxygard (refer to TDS of ACRALU and METAPOX to select right primer). Important information Choose the right primer to protect your aluminium hull : Nautix PA, HPE or EPOXYGARD. Please refer to corresponding technical data sheets. Important : check hull anticorrosion protection quality regularly. Previously antifouled surface Check the substrate : Before overcoating, remove all loosely adhering and flaking paint, feather back all edges. You can grit with brush in different areas to test adhesion of current antifouling. • Protected surface in good condition (hard matrix antifouling) : - Clean the entire hull with controlled high pressure washing or brush. - Sand surface with wet P80-120 paper grade. - Rinse with fresh water and let dry. • Surface in poor condition (or self-polishing antifouling) : - Remove all traces of antifouling by abrasion, sweep blasting or using Nautix STRIPPER. - Check the hull to be correctly protected. - Degrease with Nautix SD. - Sand primer with wet P80 paper grade. - Rinse with fresh water and let dry. SAFETY INFORMATION Compatibility Nautix A2 antifouling has good compatibility with most other antifouling types of the market (except selfpolishing antifoulings). • Only use as an antifouling product to prevent the growth of micro and macro organisms like week, algae or barnacles from settling on underwater surfaces in salt and fresh water. For amateur (up to 2.5Litres) and professional (up to 20 litres). Antifouling contains biocides. Use antifouling products with care. • Work in well-ventilated area, wear suitable protective clothing, gloves, glasses and eye/face protection. Unprotected person must be kept away from treatment area. Dispose of protective gloves and equipment after use. A2 ANTIFOULING Copper-free antifouling for aluminium hull Application methods : Airless, Airmix spray, brush, roller. Apply between 10 and 30°C (ideally inside with hygrometry rate no greater than 85%). Do not apply when there is a chance of condensation forming on the substrate (Dew-Point) : substrate, ambient air and product temperatures must be close. Avoid applying in adverse weather conditions : strong wind, strong sunlight, high/low temperatures, high humidity or rain.
