Engine Overview: The
Diesel Engine 16V 1163 M94 is designed for fast marine vessels with low load factors, such as frigates, corvettes, patrol boats, fast ferries, and displacement yachts. It features a compact design with dimensions of 4547 x 1942 x 2925 mm and a dry mass of 20560 kg.
Specifications: The engine is a 16-cylinder model with a bore/stroke of 230/280 mm and a displacement of 186.1 liters. It delivers a rated power of 5920 kW (7940 bhp) at speeds between 1275 - 1325 rpm. The engine complies with IMO II exhaust emission standards.
Standard Equipment: Key systems include an air-in cylinder starting system, a comprehensive oil system with double impeller pumps and a centrifugal oil filter, a fuel system with a Common-Rail injection system, and a cooling system with raw water-cooled plate-core heat exchangers. The combustion air system utilizes engine room air, and the exhaust system features two-stage MTU sequential turbocharging.
Optional Equipment: Options include a compressed air tank for starting, an automatic oil level check system, a fuel oil treatment plant, and a raw water pump primer. Additional exhaust system configurations and resilient engine mounting for increased shock loads are also available.
Monitoring and Control: The engine is equipped with an advanced engine management system, including an engine control unit (ECU), engine monitoring unit (EMU), and local operating panels for propulsion plant monitoring. The MTU monitoring and control system (MCS) and remote control system (RCS) are optional.
Fuel Consumption: At 100% power, the engine consumes 211 g/kWh, equivalent to 1498 liters per hour. The optimum fuel consumption is 201 g/kWh.
Certification: The engine is certified by various international bodies, including ABS, BV, CCS, DNV, and others.
Additional Information: Specifications are subject to change, and for complete details, reference to installation drawings and consultation with a distributor or dealer is recommended.
