IntroductionThis document provides technical specifications and features of I/O modules for vehicles and machines using CAN-Bus/CANopen protocols, developed by Sensor-Technik Wiedemann GmbH and its subsidiaries.
Product OverviewThe I/O modules, ESX®-DIOS and ESX®-DIOM, are designed for mobile applications to extend the I/O capabilities of a master controller. They support CAN-Bus communication with CANopen protocol or layer 2 communication.
Specifications- ESX®-DIOS: Offers a maximum of 8 outputs and 2 inputs or up to 10 inputs.
- ESX®-DIOM: Provides up to 24 outputs and 2 inputs or a maximum of 26 inputs.
- Modules have customer-specific default settings for bit rate and module base address, which are software configurable.
- Automatic detection of 9 different slot positions using 2 tristate pins.
- All outputs are diagnosable, and both inputs and outputs are protected against overvoltage and short circuits.
- Includes a safety relay as a switch-off alternative and supports direct driving of proportional valves.
Technical Data- Inputs/Outputs: Variations include digital/PWM outputs with current measurement/regulation and digital inputs with internal pulldown.
- System Data: Features a CAN-Bus interface with CAN 2.0 B, an 8-bit controller processor system, and a supply voltage range of 9 to 32 V DC.
- Mechanical: Connectors are automotive type, with dimensions and weight specified for each module. The chassis is IP65, optionally IP67, with a GORE-TEX® breathing filter for pressure equalization.
- General: Complies with EMC and environmental requirements according to automotive, agriculture, and construction industry standards, and is CE-conformant. Operating temperature ranges from -40°C to +85°C.
