The engine is equipped with highly efficient turbochargers that maintain high performance while controlling fuel consumption. It also includes individual cylinder heads for easy maintenance and key components made from highly reliable materials.
Specifications
The engine has six cylinders in line, with a bore and stroke of 127 x 165 mm, and a total displacement of 12.5 liters. It rotates counterclockwise with an idle speed of 700 RPM. The flywheel housing is SAE 1, and the flywheel is SAE 14".
Rated Power and Fuel Consumption
The engine offers different power ratings and fuel consumption levels depending on the duty:
  • P3: 599 kW (815 HP) at 2300 RPM with fuel consumption of 202-220 g/kWh.
  • P4: 662 kW (900 HP) at 2300 RPM with fuel consumption of 201-223 g/kWh.
  • P5: 735 kW (1000 HP) at 2300 RPM with fuel consumption of 186-228 g/kWh.
Applications
The engine is suitable for various applications:
  • P1 Continuous Duty: Deep sea trawlers, tug boats, freighters, ferries, etc.
  • P2 Heavy Duty: Similar to P1 with additional applications.
  • P3 Intermittent Duty: Seasonal passenger vessels, fishing boats, etc.
  • P4 Light Duty: Private pleasure boats, military fast vessels, etc.
  • P5 High Performance Duty: Private and multi-hull pleasure boats.
Cooling and Lubrication Systems
The engine features a two-stage cooling circuit with a built-in HT thermostatic valve, an integrated fresh water expansion tank, and a high-efficiency tubular heat exchanger. The lubrication system includes full-flow lube oil filters and a fresh water-cooled lube oil heat exchanger.
Fuel and Air Systems
The fuel system uses a common-rail electronic injection with a high-pressure pump and shielded high-pressure injection rail. The intake air and exhaust system includes a double flow raw water-cooled intake air heat exchanger module and a high-efficiency dry turbocharger with ball bearing technology.
Electrical System
The engine operates on a 24V DC insulated electrical system with an electrical starter and a 190A battery alternator. Optional equipment includes a wet exhaust, PTO elastic coupling, and an electric drain system.
Reference Conditions
The engine's performance is based on reference conditions of 25°C ambient temperature, 100 kPa barometric pressure, and 30% relative humidity. Fuel oil specifications include a relative density of 0.840 ± 0.005 and a lower calorific power of 42,700 kJ/kg.
