Cruise Ship NB 1383 and 1384 for TUI Cruises A sophisticated and highly innovative cruise ship is being built in the STX Finland Turku shipyard which has been the successful building site for cruise ships and technically demanding special vessels for decades. The newbuilding 1383 will be 294 metres long and 36 metres wide. There will be 1,250 staterooms with 2,500 beds for passengers and a 1,000 strong crew. The production of the first cruise ship being built for TUI Cruises started in autumn 2012 and it is scheduled for delivery in spring 2014. The production of the sister ship will start in summer 2013 and it will be delivered from the Turku shipyard in spring 2015. High balcony ratio will ensure that most of the passengers will have a possibility to enjoy their own balconies during the cruise. The ship has a wide variety of restaurants, a theatre, a spa, a nightclub and a large deck area which all are carefully designed to ensure a unique cruising experience for passengers of all ages. When completed, the ship will meet all the latest regulations and best practices in international shipbuilding. Special focus has been given to going above and beyond all rule requirements in safety-related design. The ship has been designed using the most advanced 3D integrated information model which has enabled high level of modularisation and prefabrication in the production. Environmentally friendly and energy efficient technologies have been used to build this highly modern and innovative ship.
