NB 1380 NEW GENERATION DOUBLE ENDED FERRY The new vessel will be a modern double ended car ferry which is designed for short voyages in sheltered waters in Finland, on the Korppoo - Norrskata - Houtskari route. The length and the challenging ice conditions of the route will set special requirements on the performance of the vessel. The hull of the 65 metres long ferry will fulfill the Finnish Ice-Class 1A dimensioning criteria ensuring the vessel's good icebreaking and ice-going capability. The vessel has a diesel-electric power plant propulsion engine, which utilises Z drive rudder propellers at both Particular attention has been given to the efficiency and safety of the ferry.
