The construction of the machines allows for easy maintenance and quick blade change. “Machines are fitted with a reversing SPS controller to protect against problem materials; this switches off the machine in the event of an overload. All the machines are manufactured according to the newest safety regaulations,” he notes. The shafts are driven by an electric motor via a gear unit, with the drive power being between 1.5kW and 45kW. “A hydraulic drive is optionally available,” says Finter. Mercodor believes, that vessels need to take more care of their waste on board, as passenger numbers rise, so does the amount of waste. “By applying waste management, the ship/rig owner or operator takes control of waste handling with the aim to fulfill global and local rules and regulations, minimize the cost, space and labour requirements related to waste handling, and secure long-term revenue by conforming with, or enhancing the environmental profile,” explains Finter. The company supplies its machines to a wide range of cruise companies, commercial vessels and private yachts, ferries, river cruise, naval vessels, offshore rigs and merchant vessels.
