Catalog excerpts
Maritime International’s MCS Cell fenders are the preferred choice when durability and reliability are critical. Cell fenders are more rugged and can tolerate overloading better than any fender type in the market. MCS Cell fenders are available in the widest range of sizes of any fender type. The large mounting flange reduces panel stresses by distributing the panel load over a larger area and also allows for easier installation of the mounting bolts when compared to cone or leg fenders. Type: Buckling Cell Nominal Deflection: 52.5% Buckling Deflection: 27.5 % Max Deflection: 55% E to R ratio: Medium Durability: High Special Design Comments: • MCS cell fenders can replace almost any existing cell fender installed in the past thirty years as the dimensions are identical to most other cell fenders and their performance even exceeds much older cell type fenders. • Panel width must accommodate the large mounting flange. • Adequate mounting space must be available on the supporting structure to accommodate the large diameter bolt pattern. • Venting of fender interior may be necessary due to possible water entrapment if water levels rise above the midpoint of the fender body.
