Product catalog summary
Marine Fender Testing Overview
Maritime International is equipped with state-of-the-art marine fender testing facilities, offering comprehensive testing capabilities from full-size compression tests to small-scale model and cyclic durability tests. The in-house laboratory allows clients to observe product performance under various conditions, including straight and angular compressions, shearing deflections, and different velocity simulations.

Testing Equipment and Capabilities
  • 100,000 lb Dynamic Test Frame: Designed for model testing and small fender full-scale testing, this frame features a 12 in/sec closing speed and programmable velocity patterns. It ensures load monitoring within +/- 0.5% accuracy throughout high-speed tests.
  • 400,000 lb Dynamic Test Frame: Custom-built for full-scale fender testing, this frame supports dynamic, non-linear displacement profiles with high force capacity. It includes integrated load cell monitoring and displacement feedback for precise test output monitoring. Plans are in place to upgrade this frame to over 1,000,000 lbs capacity.

Key Specifications
  • 100,000 lb Frame: Stroke - 25 in (635 mm), Max Load - 100,000 lbs (45,360 kg), Max Speed - 12 in/s (304 mm/s), Platen Width - 40 in (1015 mm).
  • 400,000 lb Frame: Stroke - 48 in (1219 mm), Max Load - 400,000 lbs (147,417 kg), Max Speed - 8 in/s (203 mm/s), Platen Width - 90 in (2286 mm).

Conclusion
Maritime International's testing facilities are among the most advanced in the industry, providing clients with reliable performance verification and lifespan estimation for marine fenders.

Marine Fender Testing-1

Marine Fender Testing Maritime International possesses the most advanced marine fender testing equipment in the industry. From full size compression testing of large rubber fenders, to small scale model testing and cyclic/ durability testing, Maritime strives to provide its customers with the best testing capability in the industry. We work continously to develop trust with our customers and maintaining this laboratory in-house allows our customers to actually see our products working under a variety of conditions. From straight compressions, angular compressions, shearing deflections, and slow to high velocity, we are one of the only companies that can simulate actual vessel berthing velocities within our laboratory. Clients regularly count on us to conduct tests on existing fenders to estimate their remaining lifespan in addition to conducting performance verification of new fenders arriving at jobsites around the US.
