This document outlines the technical specifications and standards for MarelliMotori's high-efficiency induction motors, specifically the MAQ and BAQ series with frame sizes from 80 to 280. These motors are designed to comply with international efficiency standards to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions.

International Standards
The IEC 60034-30:2008 standard categorizes energy efficiency classes for single-speed, three-phase induction motors. The European Community regulation EC No 640/2009 requires EU countries to follow these standards. The efficiency classes include IE1 (Standard), IE2 (High), IE3 (Premium), and IE4 (Super-Premium, under consideration).

Efficiency Values
Efficiency values are specified for motors operating at 50 Hz with various power ratings and pole configurations (2, 4, and 6 poles). For instance, a 0.75 kW motor achieves an IE2 efficiency of 77.4% for 2 poles.

Testing Standards
The IEC 60034-2-1:2007 standard details the method for measuring motor efficiency, enhancing accuracy by assessing actual losses under specified conditions, replacing the older IEC 60034-2:1996.

Scope and Exclusions
The efficiency classes apply to motors with 2, 4, or 6 poles, rated outputs from 0.75 to 375 kW, and rated voltages up to 1000V. Exclusions include motors for converter operation, integrated motors, and those designed for extreme conditions.

Deadlines
As of June 16, 2011, motors with efficiency below IE2 are prohibited. By January 1, 2015, motors with output powers of 7.5-375 kW must meet IE3 efficiency or be equipped with variable speed drives. By January 1, 2017, this requirement extends to motors with output powers of 0.75-375 kW.

General Specifications
Motors are designed for continuous duty (S1) with IP 55 protection, F insulation class, and operation in ambient temperatures up to 40°C and altitudes up to 1000 m.

Technical Features
Motors include a rotatable terminal box, locked bearings from 160 mm frame size, and standard grease nipples. Construction materials consist of aluminum and cast iron for frames and end shields.
