Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides technical specifications and applications for the QMF system, a floating breakwater made of steel-reinforced concrete pontoons with a polystyrene core. It is designed for wave attenuation and protection of basins and docks, particularly in estuaries and semi-sheltered coastal environments.
Specifications:
  • The QMF system is constructed with 45N/mm2 concrete, reinforced with galvanized steel mesh, and features a core of expanded polystyrene with a density of 15kg/m3.
  • Standard module lengths are 16m and 20m, with widths ranging from 2.4m to 5m, reducing the number of necessary moorings and joints.
  • Joints are silent and semi-flexible, using galvanized steel bolts and elastomer blocks.
  • Live load capacity is above 4kN/m2.
Applications:
  • Wave attenuation and protection of basins and docks.
  • Berthing and mooring of large vessels.
  • Landings in exposed areas.
Technical Specifications for Models 2416 and 2420:
  • Length: 16m (2416) and 20m (2420).
  • Concrete width: 2.4m.
  • Height: 1.0m.
  • Draft: 0.45m.
  • Freeboard: 0.55m.
  • Weight: 18 tons (2416) and 22 tons (2420).
  • Net capacity: 5.0 kN/m2.
  • Strength of joint: 2x448 kN.
Advantages:
  • Stable, resistant, strong, and safe.
Optional Accessories:
  • Nonlinear geometry options for the floating breakwater (30º, 45º, 60º).
  • Deck options include nordic pine wood, exotic pine, or composite materials.
  • Cast iron and aluminium cleats and bollards, marine elastomer fenders, and pigmented concrete are available.

Floating Breakwaters 2416, 2420-1

Marinas, Yacht Harbours and Leisure Ports FLOATING BREAKWATER IN REINFORCED CONCRETE The QMF system is composed of steel reinforced concrete pontoons with polystyrene core. This equipment works as a wave attenuator, having a massive and extremely strong structure. GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS 45N/mm2 concrete, watertight, reinforced with galvanized Strength steel mesh. Massive and extremely resistant units Core Expanded polystyrene, density 15kg/m3 Its geometric configuration, construction method and type of joints makes it a very good choice for protection of basins and in-port docks. Fenders Impregnated nordic pine Joints Silent and semi-flexible, with galvanized steel bolts and elastomer blocks Flexibility Modular construction with variable dimensions The standard units are usually built on 16 or 20m modules; these lengths decrease the number of necessary moorings and joints, and has advantages in terms of the overall behaviour of the system, reducing maintenance costs. The width ranges between 2,4 and 5m. Fixings and Primordially chains or flexible moorings; optionally piles, moorings metallic sections or radius arms Services Cable ducts in PEAD pipe Live load Live load capacity above 4kN/m2 Optional accessories Nonlinear geometry of the floating breakwater are possible (30°, 45° e 60°). Deck of nordic pine wood, exotic pine or composite. Cast iron and aluminium cleats and bollards. Fenders in marine elastomer. Pigmented concrete • Wave attenuation and protection of basins and docks in estuaries and semi-sheltered coastal environments • Berthing and mooring of large vessels • Landings in exposed areas • Stable • Resistant • Strong • Safe
