Coremat XI

Coremat XI

Product catalog summary
Overview
Lantor Coremat® Xi is a cost-effective core material solution for open mould processes, compatible with various resins such as Polyester, Vinylester, Phenolic, and Epoxy. It is suitable for hand lay-up and spray-up processes.

Applications
Coremat® Xi is used in multiple sectors including marine (hulls, decks), transportation (car parts, panels), mass transit (train interiors), leisure (kayaks, surfboards), and industrial (cladding panels, tanks).

Storage and Handling
Store Coremat® Xi away from direct sunlight in its original bag to maintain the functionality of the resin indicator. The resin indicator helps identify dry spots but does not guarantee sufficient resin application.

Dimensional Data
Coremat® Xi is available in various thicknesses (1.4 mm to 5.0 mm) with corresponding roll lengths and resin uptake values. The density when impregnated is consistent at 630 kg/m3.

Mechanical Properties
Key mechanical properties include:
  • Flexural Strength: 11 MPa (ASTM D790)
  • Flexural Modulus: 1100 MPa (ASTM D790)
  • Tensile Strength Across Layers: 4 MPa (ASTM C297)
  • Compression Strength at 10% Strain: 10 MPa (ISO 844)
  • Shear Strength: 5 MPa (ASTM C273-61)
  • Shear Modulus: 35 MPa (ASTM C273-61)
