Unmatched performance The K-Pos system is designed to keep the vessel within specified position and heading limits. In operation the system tolerates transient errors in the thrusters and measurement systems and acts appropriately if a fault occurs. A self adapting Extended Kalman Filter estimates the vessel's heading, position and velocities and the disturbances from sea current and waves. The estimator uses an accurate mathematical model of the vessel.
