Specifications
The KGC-222 system consists of a display unit and a GPS antenna (GA-12). The display unit includes a processor, receiver, and an LCD display with backlight, measuring 128 x 64 pixels. The system operates on a power supply of 10.8 to 31.2 VDC and consumes 9W or less at 24VDC. It supports NMEA 0183 Ver.2.0 data format and has a sensitivity better than -130 dBm. The GPS antenna operates at a frequency of 1575.42 MHz ± 1 MHz with 16 channel parallel reception.

Procedures and Connections
The KGC-222 features standard and optional connections, indicated by solid and dashed lines respectively. It includes three heading data output ports, expandable to five with an optional junction box. The system can output pitch, roll, and heaving data, useful for stable sea bottom readings when used with an echo sounder.

Performance and Accuracy
The system offers a positioning accuracy of 10m (2 drms, PDOP 3 or less) and a heading accuracy of 1° rms. The maximum rate of turn is 45°/s, with a maximum follow-up acceleration of 1g. The time to position fix is 2 minutes for a hot start and 50 seconds for a cold start.

The operating temperature range for the display unit is -15°C to +55°C, and for the GPS antenna, it is -25°C to +55°C. The display unit has an IPX6 water protection rating, while the GPS antenna is rated IPX4. The system's weight is 2.2kg for the display unit and 0.89kg for the base.

Features
The KGC-222 includes an internal electronic compass as a backup sensor, allowing it to output heading data even if GPS signals are interrupted. This feature is particularly useful when the vessel passes under a bridge.
