Voyage Data Now includes Type Approved The Kelvin Hughes MantaDigital NDR-2002 is a type approved Voyage Data Recorder which Shipborne Voyage Data Recorders (VDR) and the latest data download specification SN 246. The MantaDigital Voyage Data Recorder is now available with integrated Electronic Chart System (ECS) functionality that meets the requirements for a Backup ECDIS. The VDR collects data from the sensors on board the vessel stores it in an externally mounted Crash Survivable Module (CSM). The CSM is a tamper-proof unit designed to withstand the extreme shock, impact, pressure and heat, which could be associated with a maritime incident.
