Tuck splice ...high performance splice for DynIce 12 strand rope Count 42 braidings or picks. Loose up the strand’s of the rope and tape two and two together. The strand’s taped together should have same twist direction. Decide the size of the eye and make an opening in the middle of the rope

Divide the strands in two parts and pull one of them through the opening. ...pull it under the two strands in the rope. Pass then over one strand and again under two. Continue this five times so the total times under will be six times. The splice is tapered down in three steps. Therefore one of the four strands must be divided into three smaller strands.

Each small part is then joined with one of the undivided strands. Continue to thread over and under two for three times more. After the second is finished the third is finally threaded three times over one and under two. Same is repeated for the other strands on same side. The rope is turned over to the other side and the strands spliced into the rope as before. Now the splice looks like this. Next step is to trim the strands.

The short strand ends are pull into centre of the rope. 19. The splice is now finished and it should look like this. The tuck splice is absolutely the best splice for DynIce ropes as it will never slip and it gives the highest retaining strength possible to achieve with splice.
