Shoemaker´s Splice 1. Estimate 60 braidings for the splice The photo shows 5 braidings 2. Open the rope where the eye starts and mark the size of the eye 3. The shorter end is pulled through the longer end 4 times. 4 braids should be between each stich 4. The end is buired in the middle of rope. 10 braids is recommended length 5. Drag the end straight with the splice 5. Again shorter end is pulled through the longer end 4 times. 4 braids between each as before

Shoemaker´s Splice 7. The rope´s end is tapered down to a very thin end. Tapering should be about 20-30 times the diameter of the rope 8. To finish the splice the end is threaded into the center of the rope. Begin to thread 4 braidings from the last stitch 9.
