Use of these magnetic couplings will eliminate fluid or gas leakage from system components. Aids compliance with various regulations designed to protect the environment. (See for example the European IPPC Directive 96/61/C) The magnetic couplings are also maintenance free therefore reducing costs. » no fluid leakage from pump seals .* (depending on application) » maintenance free. » vibration reduction. » management of misalignment between shafts. » hermetic separation between two areas. » ability to limit a maximum torque.

Magnetic Couplings The GMDO is a permanent magnet coupling designed to transmit torque using the magnetic field that is established between the inner and outer rotor without mechanical contact between shafts. The use of magnetic coupling is recommended in applications where it is necessary to hermetically separate two zones in order to prevent fluid or gas leakage from one area to another. The classic example is fluid transfer pump applications. In these applications the fluid must not come into contact with the external environment. These magnetic couplings also prevent transmission of...

Magnetic Couplngs Main components of a permanent magnetic coupling. Magnetic couplings capable of transmitting torque from 3 to 600 Nm, without mechanical contact between two shafts through magnetic forces that are established between the internal and external rotor. The magnetic coupling is ideal for applications where prevention of leakage from the pump is essential. Magnetic couplings also prevent vibrations and, radial and axial loads to the pump shaft. The magnetic coupling is a synchronous system with a primary function of hermetically separating two areas. external coupling half,...

Magnetic Couplngs Data Required for Specification ^Metau ENGINEERING Technical data required to specify correct coupling size There is minor power loss using the GMDO magnetic coupling. There are three reason for this; eddy currents, magnetic hysteresis and hydrodynamic resistance. The eddy current and the magnetic hysteresis is only a minimal part of this power absorption. The third consideration, the resistence, depends on the medium used within the pump, and from the moment when the internal rotor is immersed in the medium. Therefore it is important to establish the viscosity of the...

Magnetic Couplngs Special Features Containment Shroud made of reinforced technopolymer Containment shrouds made of metal have two main problems: » create energy losses » create heat Containment shrouds made of reinforced technopolymer solves these two problems. This cures the energy losses caused by the rotational magnetic field. Furthermore, this solution does not generate any temperature increase even if the containment shroud is empty (dry). This solution is also interchangeable with our stainless steel model. Containment Shroud GR 2 If the reinforced technopolymer containment shroud...
