Sealing & Adhesive Products VACUUM BAGS STRIPS High Performance Butyl Vacuum Tapes This Vacuum Bags Strips family of products consists of specific compounds characterized by different features depending on the service temperature. These preform tapes have been designed for vacuum bagging operations in the Composite Industry as sealants for “bag to tool” and “bag to bag” applications. With this complete range of products, it is possible to cover cure cycles at low, medium and high temperatures. The Vacuum Bags Strips consist of a high-performance sealing butyl rubber compound. Depending from the service temperature, the compounds available are: • VT RT for low temperature molding up to 130 °C (debulking process); • Yellow Vac for cure cycles up to 180 °C; • VT HT for cure cycles up to 220 °C. USES These preform tapes have been designed for sealing in both “bag to tool” and “bag to bag” applications in ovens and autoclaves. With aggressive initial tack, the Vacuum Bags Strips mantain an air-tight seal during the cure cycle and the tool clean from the strip, with virtually no trace of residue. VACUUM BAGS STRIPS The different compounds constituting the Vacuum Bags Strips are characterized by distinctive and specific features. Standard length: 15 m *. Standard thickness: 3.0 mm *. Standard width: 1.2 cm *. Other lengths, thicknesses and widths are available on request. Rolls are packaged in boxes and placed on pallets. The Butyl Vacuum Bags Strips are used to provide a continuous airtight seal between the bag and the mold around the perimeter of the mold. The tapes may also be used to seal the point where the manifold enters the bag. Generally, the better the airtight seal between the mold and bag material, the smaller the pump is needed.
