BU-TYLENE DS CRIO - 1

TOTAL VAPOUR BARRIER Sealing & Adhesive Products BU-TYLENE DS CRIO High Adhesive Total Vapour Barrier Butyl Membrane for Cryogenic Applications Bu-tylene DS Crio is a self-adhesive waterproofing, heavy duty vapour barrier membrane. Bu-tylene DS Crio is made of a high adhesive butyl compound self-protected by a reinforced aluminium film composed of polyester-aluminium-polyester. This membrane provides high resistance to puncture, tear and scratch. The adhesive compound is protected, until use, by a silicone release film. Butyl Compound Release • Total vapour barrier; • Waterproof and Self-sealing; • High resistance to puncture, tear and scratch; • High immediate and permanent adhesion, even at low temperatures; • Solvent free. USES Bu-tylene DS Crio has been studied and developed for petrochemical and cryogenic applications as total vapour barrier. The product can also be used in HVAC industry. * The product dimensions may vary within defined ranges because of the product characteristics and its manufacturing process. ADVANTAGES OF BUTYL/ALUMINIUM MEMBRANES Unroll the membrane until the desired length is reached. Remove the silicone release film that covers the adhesive part of the membrane and position it. Apply with sufficient tension to conform smoothly. Press with a roller or a cloth pad. For the overlapping use at least 3/5 cm. Until a few years ago, the primary vapour barrier was made by the manual application of a double layer of mastic usually interspersed with a net, which ensures the uniformity of thickness. The butyl/aluminium membrane has gradually replaced the mastic, especially for large...

BU-TYLENE DS CRIO - 4

CRYOGENIC PLANTS A common feature of a cryogenic plant is the Separation and/or Liquefaction of Gases at process conditions which may be at elevated pressures, but always involving very low temperatures. Consequently, the conservation of cold becomes a dominant feature in the design of such processes, which focuses on highly efficient heat exchange. In fact when a plant is operating at -160 °C, the environment is unforgiving. Inefficient insulation will result in much higher refrigeration requirements as the boil-off is increased. In this context an efficient vapour barrier is fundamental...
