Product Description: Quick drying, easy to apply epoxy primer offering high performance protection with excellent anticorrosive properties, suitable as an antifouling tie-coat over epoxy primers and providing good abrasion resistance.
Product Information: Available in White (YPA400) and Grey (YPA403) with a matt finish. Specific gravity is 1.4, volume solids at 45%, and a mix ratio of 3:1 by volume with a curing agent YPA404. Typical shelf life is 2 years with VOC at 464 g/lt. Available in unit sizes of 750 ml, 2.5 Lt, 5 Lt, and 20 Lt.
Drying/Overcoating Information: Drying times vary with temperature, from 4 hours at 5°C to 30 minutes at 35°C for touch dry. Immersion times range from 24 hours at 5°C to 8 hours at 35°C. Pot life decreases from 10 hours at 5°C to 2 hours at 35°C. Overcoating times depend on substrate temperature and the product used.
Application and Use:
  • Preparation: Different preparation methods are specified for steel, aluminium, zinc/galvanised steel, stainless steel, lead, and bare wood, including degreasing, sanding, and priming within 8 hours.
  • Method: Apply 1-5 coats depending on substrate and use, with specific instructions for mixing and thinning.
  • Important Points: Do not use below 5°C or over conventional coatings. Ensure ambient, product, and substrate temperatures are within specified ranges.
Transportation, Storage, and Safety Information: Store between 5°C and 35°C, avoiding exposure to air and temperature extremes. Ensure containers are securely closed during transport. Follow safety guidelines and dispose of remainders responsibly.

Interprotect Primers High Performance Epoxy Primer for Steel, Aluminium and Wood PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Quick drying, easy to apply epoxy primer for high performance protection. * Excellent anticorrosive protection * Antifouling tiecoat for use over epoxy primers * Good abrasion resistance PRODUCT INFORMATION Colour Specific Gravity Volume Solids Converter/Curing Agent Typical Shelf Life Unit Size DRYING/OVERCOATING INFORMATION Drying 5°C (41°F) Perfection Undercoat Note: For all other International antifoulings such as Cruiser Uno EU, Boatguard EU, Ultra EU, Cruiser Polishing Antifouling, Cruiser Premium Plus, Micron Superior, Micron Extra EU, Navigator, Ultra 300, Boatguard 100, Cruiser 200/250, Trilux 200 and Trilux Hard Antifouling, use the Micron 350 overcoating times. Overcoating times relate to Brush/Roller application. If maximum overcoating time is exceeded, sand with 180220 grade wet or dry paper. STEEL Degrease with solvent or Super Cleaner. Gritblast to Sa 2½ near white metal surface. If gritblasting is not possible, grind the metal surface with 2436 grit abrasive discs to a uniform, clean, bright metal surface with a 5075 microns anchor pattern. Use angle grinder on small areas. ALUMINIUM Degrease with solvent or Super Cleaner. Sand well using 24120 grade (aluminium compatible) paper. Coarser grades are recommended to achieve optimum adhesion. Clean thoroughly and allow to dry. Prime using a recommended International primer as soon as possible (within 8 hours) as detailed for specific coating systems. ZINC/GALVANISED STEEL Degrease with solvent or Super Cleaner. Sand well using 60120 grade paper. Clean thoroughly and allow to dry completely. Prime using a recommended International primer as soon as possible (within 8 hours) as detailed for specific coating systems. STAINLESS STEEL Light gritblast to produce a profile of 50 microns. Clean thoroughly and allow to dry completely. Prime using a recommended International primer as soon as possible (within 8 hours) as detailed for specific coating systems. LEAD Degrease with solvent or Super Cleaner. Sand well using 120 grade paper or power wire brush Clean thoroughly and allow to dry.
