Surface preparations and systems Previously painted surface in good condition : Wash down with Boatcare Super Cleaner, rinse with fresh water and allow to dry. Sand with 180–280 grade paper. Poor surface condition : Remove all previous coatings and prime the substrate. Steel / Aluminium : Prime with Intergard 269 or Interprime 820 thinned 15%. Bare Wood : Prime stable constructions only, with Interprime 820. Bare GRP / Composite : Remove surface wax/mould release agent with Degreaser (Oplosser) or Boatcare Super Cleaner.
