Product catalog summary
Product Description: Intertuf 262 is a surface-tolerant, two-pack epoxy primer designed for anticorrosive coating from keel to rail. It is suitable for use with controlled cathodic protection and applicable in new building, maintenance, and repair scenarios.
Intended Uses: The product is identified as KHA303-Red with a volume solids content of 73% ±2%. It is applied at a typical film thickness of 5 mils dry (6.8 mils wet) and offers a theoretical coverage of 234 ft²/US gal at 5 mils dft. Application methods include airless spray, brush, and roller.
Product Information: The mix ratio is 4:1 by volume of Part A to Part B, with no induction period required. The flash points are 82°F for Part A, 93°F for Part B, and 84°F when mixed. Drying times vary with temperature, with touch dry times ranging from 3 to 9 hours and hard dry times from 5 to 47 hours.
Overcoating Data: Overcoating intervals depend on the substrate temperature and the specific product used for overcoating, such as Interbond 201, Interbond 501, Intergard 263, Intergard 282, Intergard 740, and Intertuf 262.
Regulatory Data: The VOC content is 279 g/lt (2.33 lb/US gal) as supplied, with compliance to the EU Solvent Emissions Directive.
Certification: The product is certified for food contact (NOHA), fire resistance (IMO Resolution A653 (16) and MSC61(67)), and is FDA compliant for dry foodstuffs.
Surface Preparation: Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from contamination. Various standards such as SSPC-SP1, Sa2½ (ISO 8501-1:2007), and others are recommended for different substrates and conditions.
Application: Mixing involves agitating Part A and combining it with Part B. Application by brush and roller is recommended for small areas, while airless spray is preferred for larger areas. Proper safety measures and equipment cleaning protocols are emphasized.
Safety: Compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards is mandatory. Emergency contact numbers are provided for different regions.
Limitations: The product should be applied in good weather, with surface temperatures at least 5°F above the dew point. Storage conditions and shelf life are specified.
Important Note: Users are advised to consult with International Paint representatives for specific recommendations and to ensure the data sheet is current before use. Liability disclaimers and warranty limitations are stated.
