Product catalog summary
Product Description: Intershield 300 is a light-colored, abrasion-resistant, aluminum pure epoxy coating designed for long-term anticorrosive protection and low-temperature application. It serves as a universal primer applicable directly to prepared shop primer or bare steel and is compatible with controlled cathodic protection systems.
Intended Uses: Suitable for new building or maintenance and repair, with specific variants ENA300-Bronze and ENA301-Aluminium. It offers a volume solid of 60% ±2% and a typical film thickness of 150 microns dry (250 microns wet).
Application Methods: Can be applied using airless spray, brush, or roller. The mix ratio is 2.5 parts of Part A to 1 part of Part B, with a flash point of 28°C for Part A and 26°C for Part B.
Drying and Overcoating: Drying times vary with temperature, with touch dry times ranging from 7 hours at -5°C to 2 hours at 35°C. Overcoating intervals depend on the temperature and the specific overcoating product used.
Regulatory Data: VOC values are 386 g/lt as supplied, with compliance to various international standards for food contact, tank coatings, and fire resistance.
Surface Preparation: Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from contaminants. Specific standards for new building, major refurbishment, and repair are provided, including abrasive blast cleaning and hydroblasting.
Mixing and Application: Material is supplied in two containers and must be mixed thoroughly before use. Application by brush or roller is recommended for small areas only, with multiple coats required to achieve the specified film thickness.
Safety and Handling: Proper ventilation and protective measures are necessary during application. Emergency contact numbers are provided for various regions.
Storage and Shelf Life: The product has a shelf life of 12 months at 25°C and should be stored in dry, shaded conditions away from heat sources.
Limitations: Application should be done in good weather, with the surface temperature at least 3°C above the dew point. Specific guidelines are provided for overcoating and application at low temperatures.
Important Note: Users should consult their local International Paint representative to ensure the data sheet is current and for specific recommendations tailored to their needs.
