System Description

The TNF floating floor system is designed for universal applications on ships and offshore installations. It includes FS7 and FS5 floor units made of specially developed Rockwool insulation material topped with a 2 mm thick steel plate, enhancing surface strength.

System Application

The FS7 unit meets A60 fire insulation and high noise reduction requirements.
Airborne sound insulation is improved when installed over a 6 mm steel deck.

Installation Process

Level the steel deck to ensure a flat surface before laying the TNF floor units.
Lay units in staggered rows starting from a corner; minor inequalities can be absorbed by the floor units.
Units can be cut with an angle grinder and are tack-welded together every 300 mm.
Seal joints between units for a finished look.

Load Testing

Uniform load tests estimate general load in ship accommodations: corridors and public areas at 2.5 kN/m², cabins at 1.5 kN/m².
Maximum uniform load for FS7 should not exceed 10 kN/m².
Point load tests simulate impacts from heavy furniture, with a max recommended load of 2.0 kN at the floor edge.
Line load tests for walls and fixed items recommend loads up to 3 kN/m.
