Product catalog summary
Product Description: HEMPADUR 15570 is a two-component, polyamide-adduct cured epoxy paint known for its strong and highly corrosion-resistant coating capabilities. It is effective at temperatures as low as -10°C/14°F and is suitable for application under humid conditions, on damp steel surfaces, and moist surfaces.
Recommended Use: This product is used as a maintenance and repair primer, intermediate, and/or finishing coat in HEMPADUR systems for severely corrosive environments. It is also used as a low-temperature curing epoxy primer and as a mist coat on GALVOSIL.
Service Temperature: Maximum dry exposure is 140°C/284°F. It is suitable for ballast water service and resists normal ambient temperatures at sea.
Certificates/Approvals: Tested for non-contamination of grain cargo and approved as a low flame spread material according to IMO resolution MSC 61 (67). It complies with EU Directive 2004/42/EC.
Physical Constants: The product has a flat finish with a volume solids percentage of 54 ± 1. The theoretical spreading rate is 5.4 m²/l to 100 microns. It has a VOC content of 414 g/l and a specific gravity of 1.4 kg/litre.
Application Details: The mixing ratio is 3:1 by volume, and it can be applied using airless spray, air spray, or brush. The pot life is 2 hours at 20°C/68°F, with a nozzle pressure of 175 bar.
Surface Preparation: New steel requires abrasive blasting to Sa 2½. Other metals need thorough degreasing and light abrasive sweeping. Maintenance involves removing oil, grease, and contaminants, with cleaning methods varying based on the surface condition.
Application Conditions: Application and curing should occur at temperatures above -10°C/14°F. Adequate ventilation is necessary in confined spaces, and the paint temperature should be 15°C/59°F or above.
Remarks: The product is prone to chalking in outdoor exposure and may become more sensitive to mechanical damage and chemical exposure at elevated temperatures. Film thickness may vary based on use.
Safety: Handle with care and follow all safety labels and regulations. Use HEMPEL's Tool Cleaner 99610 for cleaning tools.
