Product catalog summary
Product Description: HEMPEL'S ANTIFOULING GLOBIC 6000 is a self-smoothening SPC antifouling paint with high solids content, designed for vessels operating in medium aggressive fouling waters. It features a nano-capsule acrylate binder system and inorganic fiber reinforcement for mechanical strength. The product is compliant with the International Convention on the Control of Harmful Antifouling Systems on Ships.
Recommended Use: Suitable for newbuildings and maintenance of deep-sea vessels operating at medium to high speed. It supports dry-docking intervals of up to 60 months.
Physical Constants: The paint has a flat finish with a volume solids percentage of 58 ± 1. The theoretical spreading rate is 5.8 m²/l at 100 microns. It has a VOC content of 383 g/l and a specific gravity of 1.8 kg/litre. The flash point is 24°C.
Application Details: Application is recommended via airless spray with a nozzle orifice of 0.027 - 0.031 inches and a pressure of 270 bar. The indicated dry film thickness is 100 microns, and the wet film thickness is 175 microns. Safety precautions must be observed as per HEMPEL Safety Data Sheets.
Surface Preparation: Surfaces should be cleaned of oil and grease, followed by high-pressure water cleaning. The use of a sealer coat depends on the condition of the existing antifouling.
Application Conditions: The product should be applied on a dry, clean surface above the dew point. Adequate ventilation is necessary in confined spaces.
Remarks: The product contains heavy particles and should be stirred well before use. The initial color may vary but stabilizes after exposure to saltwater. Film thickness can be adjusted based on use, affecting drying time and recoating intervals.
Additional Notes: For aluminum hulls, an anticorrosive system must be applied to prevent corrosion. The product is for professional use only, and the application equipment should meet specified requirements.

Product Data HEMPEL'S ANTIFOULING GLOBIC 6000 75950 Description: HEMPEL'S ANTIFOULING GLOBIC 6000 is a low friction, self-smoothening SPC antifouling with a high solids content. The controlled self-polishing is made possible partly by hydrolysis. Part of the binder system is based on nano-capsule acrylate. An efficient bioactive mixture makes it suitable for protection on vessels operating in medium aggressive fouling waters. The patented inorganic fibre reinforcement of the binder ensures mechanical strength. Recommended use: As a selfpolishing antifouling for newbuildings and maintenance of bottom and boottop on deep-sea going vessels operating at medium to high speed and medium activity. For dry-docking interval of up to 60 months. This product does not contain organotin compounds acting as biocides and complies with the International Convention on the Control of Harmful Antifouling Systems on Ships as adopted by IMO October 2001 (IMO document AFS/CONF/26).
