Product Data HEMPEL'S SUPERYACHT GLOBIC NCT 8990S Description: HEMPEL’S SUPERYACHT GLOBIC NCT 8990S is a high solids, self-polishing antifouling. Based on Hempels patented nanocapsule acrylate binder technology, self-polishing is controlled by sea waters interaction with core-shell structure of the nanocapsules. The powerful bioactive mixture and selfrenewing effect, makes it suitable for protection in severe fouling conditions of coastal waters and long idle periods. Inorganic fibre reinforcement ensures high mechanical strength. This product does not contain organotin compounds acting as biocides and complies with the International Convention on the Control of Harmful Antifouling Systems on Ships as adopted by Imo October 2001(Imo document AFS/CONF/26). Recommended use: As an antifouling for botom and boottop on superyachts operating in coastal trade at low to medium speed and low to medium activity. Availability: Subject to special agreement. HEMPEL'S SUPERYACHT GLOBIC NCT 8990S SURFACE PREPARATION: Existing old self-polishing or ablative antifouling: Remove possible oil and grease etc. with suitable detergent, followed by high pressure fresh water cleaning for a thorough removal of any possible weak structure of leached antifouling. Sealer: Whether to use a sealer coat/tiecoat or not depends on the type and condition of the existing antifouling.
