Product Description: HEMPADUR 35560 is a solvent-free, two-component, high-build epoxy paint with excellent anticorrosive properties, designed for use in potable water tanks and pipelines. It is benzyl alcohol-free and cures to a coating resistant to fresh water.
Recommended Use: Suitable as a lining in potable water tanks and pipelines.
Service Temperature: Maximum dry exposure is 140°C/284°F, and in fresh water, it is 45°C/113°F.
Certificates/Approvals: Approved by WRAS for potable water up to 35°C/95°F, certified to NSF standard 61 for use in potable water tanks and pipes, and approved by Folkehelseinstituttet, Norway, for offshore potable water tanks.
Physical Constants: The product has a semi-gloss finish, 100% volume solids, a theoretical spreading rate of 5 m²/l, and a VOC content of 155 g/l. It is fully cured in 12 days at 20°C/68°F and dry to touch in approximately 10 hours at the same temperature.
Application Details: The product should be mixed in a 6.8:2.2 ratio by volume and applied using airless spray or brush without dilution. The pot life is 1.5 hours at 20°C/68°F. The indicated film thickness is 200 microns dry and wet.
Surface Preparation: New steel should be cleaned of oil, grease, and contaminants, followed by abrasive blasting. For repair and maintenance, similar cleaning and blasting procedures are recommended. Concrete surfaces require emulsion washing and abrasive blasting.
Application Conditions: Apply on dry, clean surfaces above the dew point. The paint temperature should be above 15°C/59°F, and curing requires a maximum relative humidity of 85%.
Remarks: The product may chalk in outdoor exposure and is sensitive to mechanical damage at elevated temperatures. Film thickness can be adjusted based on application needs.
Post-treatment: After curing, surfaces should be cleaned with fresh water before use. Disinfection procedures should be followed as per local regulations.

HEMPADUR 35560 SURFACE PREPARATION: New steel: Remove oil and grease etc. thoroughly with suitable detergent. Remove salts and other contaminants by high pressure fresh water cleaning. Abrasive blasting to near white metal Sa 2½ (ISO 8501-1:1988) with a surface profile corresponding to Rugotest No. 3, BN10a, Keane-Tator Comparator 3.0 G/S, or ISO Comparator Rough Medium (G).
