Installation Procedure:
  1. Mount the GRP holder in a position where the lifebuoy can easily fall into the water.
  2. Install the manual release front bracket on the opposite side of the large cut-out hole as per the drawing on page 3.
  3. Mount the metal spring holder.
  4. Position the connector box near the GRP holder ensuring the ERU cable can reach it.
  5. Install the screened cable from the connector box to the release switch.
  6. Mount the release switch in an easily accessible location, preferably inside the wheelhouse or bridge.
  7. Connect 12V emergency power to the release switch. Use a DC/DC converter if 12V is unavailable (CMH art.no. HM-0456).
  8. Place a Solas lifebuoy in the GRP holder and load the system by inserting the cord with one metal ring into the slot opposite the large cut-out hole. Secure with the manual safety pin and adjust the cord length as needed.
  9. Ensure the metal spring is tightened into a straight position by turning the second metal ring and securing it with the cable strip.
  10. Connect the power and verify 12V at the connector box before connecting the ERU.
  11. Secure the safety lid on the release switch with an easy-to-break seal to prevent accidental use.
  12. The system is ready for use. Replace the ERU after two years of service.
