SonicShield is a sustainable anti-fouling system designed for leisure and yachting applications. It operates using ultrasonic vibrations to prevent marine growth on hulls, offering an eco-friendly alternative to traditional biocide-based coatings.
Specifications

How It Works
SonicShield uses ultrasonic vibrations in the 18-42 kHz range to create an inhospitable environment for marine organisms like mussels and barnacles. The system is compatible with both anti-fouling paints and biocide-free coatings, such as H2O CleanShield.
Installation Procedures
Control Unit Installation: Connect to a 12/24 Volt DC power source, ensuring correct polarity. The unit should be placed in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated area with ambient temperatures between -10°C and 50°C.
Transducer Installation: Clean and prepare the hull surface, apply Loctite 3090 glue to the transducer membrane, and press onto the hull. Allow 24 hours for the glue to cure before activation.
Recommendations
Periodic cleaning is necessary, with intervals depending on location and sailing profile. Proper installation is crucial for system effectiveness.

04 Installation of the transducers Proper installation of the transducers is crucial for the effectiveness of the system. Identify a suitable location for the transducers: - Direct to the inside of the hull, in case of a soft-core or sandwich hull it needs to be place on the outside shell! - Spot with min. diameter of 75 mm - Even surface Step 1 Use a sanding machine to remove all paint and make the spot as smooth/even as possible. Step 2 Clean the surface and the vibrating membrane of the transducer thoroughly with acetone of a similar cleaning product. Do not touch these surfaces after cleaning....
