SE 200

Product catalog summary
Introduction
SE 200 is a high-strength, toughened epoxy system with a flexible cure range from 135°C to 200°C. It is designed for rapid part manufacturing using various composite processing methods. The system achieves a glass transition temperature (Tg) greater than 200°C after a 15-minute press cure at 195°C, making it suitable for automotive parts production.

Product Information
SE 200 is available in various formats. It offers excellent handling, mechanical performance, and hot-wet performance. The resin viscosity profile shows a minimum viscosity of 5.5 Pa.s at 105°C.

Transport & Storage
Store SE 200 sealed and out of direct sunlight. Recommended storage temperatures are -18°C for up to 12 months, +5°C for 6 months, and +21°C for 8 weeks. Prepreg materials should be stored in a freezer to maximize their usable life.

Health and Safety
Refer to the product MSDS for specific health and safety information.

Cure Time & Temperature
SE 200 offers flexible curing options, with a minimum cure of 12 hours at 85°C. Optimal thermal performance is achieved with a minimum cure of 180°C.

Laminate Properties
Standard processing techniques require a minimum cure time of 90 minutes at 135°C. Key properties include tensile strength of 75 MPa, tensile modulus of 3.7 GPa, flexural strength of 130 MPa, and compressive strength of 230 MPa.

Unidirectional Laminate Properties
Properties vary based on the type of fiber used, with tensile strengths ranging from 1680 MPa to 2705 MPa and compressive strengths from 885 MPa to 1423 MPa.

Woven Laminate Properties
Woven laminates cured at 135°C for 90 minutes show tensile strengths from 515 MPa to 1065 MPa and compressive strengths from 420 MPa to 650 MPa.

SE 200 200°C TG STRUCTURAL EPOXY PREPREG ¬ Excellent handling, drape and mould conformance Excellent mechanical performance Fast, flexible curing options Suitable for compression moulding, autoclave or vacuum bag processing Achieves a Tg > 200°C (392°F) after press curing in 15 minutes at 195°C (383°F) Excellent hot-wet performance INTRODUCTION SE 200 is a high strength toughened epoxy system that has a flexible cure envelope ranging from 135°C (275°F) to 200°C (392°F). SE 200 has been developed to enable rapid part manufacture through a number of composite processing methods. The minimum cure temperature is 135°C (275°F) from which SE 200 develops a Tg and mechanical properties associated with higher temperature curing systems. Higher temperature cures in excess of 180°C (356°F) will achieve the best dry and wet thermal performance. Using the appropriate press moulding technology it is possible to achieve a 15 minutes hot-in / hot-out cure at 195°C (383°F), making SE 200 suitable for the economic production of automotive parts. SE 200 structural prepreg can be used in the making of parts such as structural lower tubs, bulkheads, front and rear scuttles, gearbox tunnels and other structural components.
