Product catalog summary
Product Overview: The Satin Polyurethane Varnish V2 is a two-component varnish designed for high durability and excellent performance in marine environments. It offers strong abrasion resistance and UV stability, making it suitable for exterior wood and as a protective layer over polyurethane lacquers.
Physical Characteristics: The varnish hardens through a chemical reaction between compounds A and B. It has a density of 1.00 ± 0.02, a dry extract volume of 50 ± 2%, and a flash point between 23°C and 55°C. The recommended dry film thickness per layer is 30 microns, with a total thickness of 60 microns for optimal protection.
Surface Preparation: For new wood, sand with 150-180 grain sandpaper and apply a diluted first coat. For previously varnished wood, ensure compatibility with dual-component polyurethane and sand with 240 grain sandpaper. For polyurethane lacquer SL2, perform egrenation and dust thoroughly.
Paint Preparation: Mix compounds A and B in a 2:1 volume ratio, adding 5-15% thinner after mixing. Allow the mixture to mature for 15 minutes before application. The pot life at 20°C is 24 hours.
Application Instructions: Apply two coats of 30 microns each, either wet on wet or with a 24-hour interval and intermediate sanding. Use a brush, roller, or spray gun, with specific dilution rates for each method. Maintain a temperature range of +10 to +35°C and relative humidity below 80% during application.
Drying and Curing: At 20°C, the varnish is dust-free in 15-20 minutes, touch-dry in 1 hour, and ready for sanding in 24 hours. Full polymerization occurs in 15 days at ambient temperature.
Polymerized Varnish Characteristics: The varnish exhibits excellent abrasion resistance, flexibility, UV resistance, and good chemical resistance to bases, acids, and distilled water.
Packing and Storage: Available in 750 cc packaging. Store compound A for up to 12 months and the hardener for 6 months in original containers.
Precautions and Safety: Use protective gear and work in a ventilated area to prevent fire hazards. Refer to the health and safety data sheet for detailed information.

DATA SHEET SATIN POLYURETHANE VARNISH V2 Varnished polyurethane 2 components, of great hardness, especially conceived for an excellent behaviour with the marine atmosphere. CHARACTERISTICS This varnish is very effective against abrasion, it does not turn yellow and therefore can be used as a protective varnish on polyurethane lacquers SL2. On exterior wood, thanks to its great toughness, it offers ideal protection against bad weather while maintaining great flexibility. PREPARATION OF THE SURFACE On new wood: Sand the surface with dry 150-180 grain sandpaper, then apply a first coat of very dilute varnish (30-50%) to obtain good penetration of the varnish into the surface. On wood that is already varnished: Make sure that the old varnish is a dual component polyurethane, then sand down with dry 240 grain sandpaper. On polyurethane lacquer SL2: Perform an egrenation of the lacquer and dust well. APPLICATION Apply two 30 microns (dry film) coats of varnish V2, wet on wet, or apply 2 coats leaving 24 hours between the two with intermediate sanding.
