DATA SHEET PAINT FOR HOLD / BILGE ALKYD URETHANE CHARACTERISTICS Single component alkyd urethane resin based satin finish paint. Its great resistance to abrasion and to chemical substances such as acids, solvents, detergents, oils and greases as well as to salt water, makes it particularly suitable for bilges and boat lockers. PREPARATION OF THE SURFACE On polyester: Degrease thoroughly the support before sanding. Dust well before painting. On new wooden hull: Carry out a single component treatment cycle to protect the wood before painting (undercoat SC10 and primer AP10). On old single component paint: Eliminate all surface defects (flaking, etc) by sanding the surface with dry 180 grain sandpaper. If the surface is very damaged, apply a coat of primer AP10 to reduce the defects before painting the support. PREPARATION OF THE PAINT Mix the product well before application. APPLICATION Apply two 30-40-microns layers of bilge paint (dry film), i.e. 60-80 microns wet at 24-hours interval without intermediate egrenation. PRECAUTIONS FOR USE Use protective gloves, masks and clothes. Work in a ventilated area.
