DATA SHEET EPOXY ANTICORROSION PRIMER AC20 Two components anticorrosion primer for the treatment of steel hulls, cast iron ballast, etc. CHARACTERISTICS Epoxy-resin based anticorrosion primer containing a non-toxic corrosion inhibitor. It is intended for the protection of steel and other ferrous metals in a marine and industrial environment. PREPARATION OF THE SURFACE Apply AC20 onto clean and dry surfaces. The surface to be covered with AC20 should at the very least have undergone an St3 brushing or for better anticorrosion protection an Sa2.5. sanding. The ambient temperature and that of the item to be treated should be above 10°C. PREPARATION OF THE PAINT Homogenise the two parts separately before finally mixing them. Let the mixture ripen for 15 to 20 min at 20°C (the ripening time depends on the temperature; if the temperature is lower then ripening takes longer and inversely for a higher temperature). For dilution wait until the end of ripening. Mixture ratios by volume: Base: 65 / Hardener: 35 Mixture ratios by weight: Base: 100 / Hardener: 32 Workable life of mixture: Approximately 8 hours at 20°C APPLICATION Apply one layer of AC20 anti-corrosion primer of 45 microns thickness (dry film). Leave to dry for 24 hours before covering. PRECAUTIONS FOR USE Use protective gloves, masks and clothes. Work in a ventilated area; an accumulation of solvents can catch fire if exposed to a naked flame or a spark.
