DATA SHEET STEEL PRIMER SINGLE COMPONENT AC10 Single component anti-rust primer. CHARACTERISTICS Anti-rust primer, modified alkyd urethane resin based, contains a non-toxic corrosion inhibitor. It is made to protect steel and other ferrous metals in a marine and industrial environment. AC10 must not be used on the wetted surface of the hull. PREPARATION OF THE SURFACE Apply AC10 on clean, dry surfaces, remove all traces of grease and scale. All non-adherent parts like rust flakes must undergo metallic brushing (or any other mechanical means) followed by a thorough removal of dust PREPARATION OF THE PAINT Mix the product well before application. APPLICATION Be sure to apply a protective strip to delimit the surface to be painted Apply a 45-microns (dry film) layer of AC10 primer. Let it dry for 10 hours at 20°C before applying a layer of SL1 Lacquer or AP10 followed by SL1. PRECAUTIONS FOR USE Use protective gloves, masks and clothes. Work in a ventilated area; an accumulation of solvents can catch fire if exposed to a naked flame or a spark.
