Product catalog summary
Technical Specifications:
Deckflex MSP100 is a high-quality, single-component adhesive sealant with a stable paste consistency. It cures through moisture exposure, forming a permanent elastic product. The curing system is moisture-based, with a skin formation time of 35 minutes and a cure rate of 2-3mm per 24 hours at 23°C and 75% relative humidity. The product has a hardness of 35 Shore A, a specific gravity of 1.31g/mL, and can withstand temperatures from -40°C to 100°C. It exhibits excellent mechanical properties, including a tensile/shear strength of 2.06MPa and an elongation at break of 1050%.
Product Characteristics:
Deckflex MSP100 is easy to apply, with high extrudability and good workability. It is environmentally friendly, free from isocyanates, silicone, solvents, phthalates, halogens, and acids. The product is UV stable, colorfast, and verified as non-hazardous by NOHSC. It accommodates movement up to 30% and does not form bubbles within the sealant.
Applications:
This adhesive is suitable for caulking teak and cork decking and bonding decks on metal, timber, and fiberglass substrates. It is designed for use on teak and cork, with compatibility tests recommended for other timber types.
Packaging and Shelf Life:
Available in black, the product is packaged in 290mL cartridges and 600mL foil bags. It has a shelf life of 15 months for cartridges and 12 months for foil bags when stored in a cool, dry place between +5°C and +25°C.
Surface Preparation:
Surfaces should be abraded, clean, dry, and free of dust and grease. For porous substrates, Primer PR10 may be applied, while non-porous substrates can be cleaned with Methylated Spirits or alcohol cleaner. Compatibility tests are recommended.
Bonding and Joint Dimensions:
Deckflex MSP100 offers excellent adhesion on most substrates. The minimal bonding width is 2mm, with a maximum of 10mm. For joints, the minimum width is 5mm, and the maximum is 30mm. The recommended joint width is twice the depth.
Chemical Resistance:
The product has good resistance to water, aliphatic solvents, mineral oils, grease, and diluted inorganic acids, but poor resistance to aromatic solvents, concentrated acids, and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
Application Method:
Applied using a manual or pneumatic caulking gun at temperatures between +1°C and +30°C. Clean up with Methylated Spirits or alcohol cleaner immediately after application.
Health and Safety:
Standard industrial hygiene practices should be followed, including wearing gloves and safety glasses.
Additional Remarks:
Deckflex MSP100 can be overpainted with water-based paints, but compatibility tests are recommended. For cleaning teak decks, refer to the teak deck cleaning guide available on the Fixtech website or contact their technical department.
