Product catalog summary
Technical Specifications:
Fix100 (MSP100) is a single-component adhesive sealant based on MS Polymer® technology. It cures with moisture to form a permanent elastic product. Key properties include a stable paste consistency, a curing system that forms skin in 35 minutes, and a cure rate of 2-3mm per 24 hours. It has a hardness of 35 Shore A, a specific gravity of 1.31g/mL, and can withstand temperatures from -40°C to 100°C. The product is UV stable, colorfast, and verified as non-hazardous by NOHSC.
Product Characteristics:
Fix100 offers easy application, high extrudability, and good workability. It is free from isocyanates, silicone, solvents, phthalates, halogens, and acids. The sealant provides excellent mechanical properties and sandability after curing. It accommodates movement up to 30% and does not form bubbles.
Applications:
Ideal for caulking teak and cork decking, and elastic bonding of decks on metal, timber, and fiberglass substrates. It is suitable for areas subject to vibration. Compatibility tests are recommended for other timber types.
Packaging and Shelf Life:
Available in black, in 290mL cartridges and 600mL foil bags. Shelf life is 15 months for cartridges and 12 months for foil bags when stored between +5°C and +25°C.
Surface Preparation:
Surfaces should be abraded, clean, dry, and free of dust and grease. For porous substrates, use Fixseal Epoxy Sealer/Primer. Non-porous substrates can be cleaned with methylated spirits or alcohol cleaner.
Bonding and Joint Dimensions:
Fix100 has excellent adhesion on most substrates. Joint dimensions range from a minimum width of 2mm for bonding to a maximum width of 30mm for joints. The recommended joint width is twice the depth.
Chemical Resistance:
Good resistance to water, aliphatic solvents, mineral oils, and diluted inorganic acids. Poor resistance to aromatic solvents, concentrated acids, and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
Application Method:
Applied using a manual or pneumatic caulking gun at temperatures between +1°C and +30°C. Clean up with methylated spirits or alcohol cleaner before curing.
Health and Safety:
Standard industrial hygiene practices should be followed. Wear gloves and safety glasses.
Remarks:
Fix100 may be overpainted with water-based paints, but compatibility tests are recommended. It is not resistant to alkalis, concentrated acids, chlorine, and bleach solutions.
Warranty:
Fixtech Pty Ltd offers no warranty of suitability for specific purposes. They may replace goods or refund the purchase price for defective materials but are not liable for incidental or consequential damages.
