Variable Frequency Tachometer

Product catalog summary
Product Description: The 2-Inch Variable Frequency Alternator Tachometer is designed to connect to an alternator signal. It features four range selections for rough calibration and an adjustment potentiometer for fine-tuning. DIP switches on the back allow for rough calibration selection based on frequency. It is compatible with 24 VDC systems using an adaptor.
Mechanical Specifications: The tachometer is available with a stainless steel or aluminum bezel, with a customer-specified finish. It features white thermoplastic copolymer with opaque characters and background. The mounting hole is 2.0625 inches (53 mm) with a depth behind the faceplate of 3.266 inches (83 mm) minimum.
Electrical Specifications: The system includes reverse polarity protection and meets SAE J1113 standards for load dump. It operates at 11-16 VDC standard and can handle overvoltage up to 18 VDC for 5 minutes, or 36 VDC with a GY0065 adapter.
Environmental Specifications: The tachometer can withstand non-operating shock of 50 +/- 2 G and vibration of 4 G peak, 10 to 200Hz. It operates in temperatures from -20°C to 85°C and can be stored at -30°C to 85°C with 50% relative humidity. It meets or exceeds ASTM 117-73 for salt spray resistance.
Operational Specifications: The tachometer uses a metal mounting bracket with a clamping range of 0 - .8 inches (0-20 mm) and requires a torque of 5 to 7 inch pounds (.57 - 80 Nm). It accepts signal input from an alternator or magnetic pickup with a frequency range of 400 Hz to 1600 Hz. Wire termination is via blade terminals.
Dimensions: The tachometer dimensions include a mounting hole of 2.0625 inches, a depth behind the faceplate of 3.266 inches, and #8-32 UNC - 3A studs for mounting.
