  • Lightning protection insulator PB 500 with a maximum RF voltage of 30 kV and an adjustable discharging gap of 10 ± 3 mm.
Procedures
Installation and maintenance procedures for supporting pipes and tilting mechanisms include:
  • Supporting pipes made of high-grade steel, available in different heights, installed via welding or bolting.
  • Tilting mechanisms for antenna installation and maintenance without cranes, using manual or automatic drives.
Norms and Recommendations
Recommendations include:
  • Use of rust-preventing primer and optional sandblasting and galvanization for supporting pipes.
  • Ensuring watertight construction with protective measures against condensation for base-injected antennas.
Parts List
Components are associated with specific order codes for easy identification and ordering, such as:
  • ST 300 E 189-015 for stand-off insulators.
  • RH 200 E 189-005 for strain insulators.
  • P 75 E 189-014 for lead-through insulators.
Key Features
Highlighted features include:
  • High resistance to environmental factors like UV, water, and chemicals.
  • Mechanical robustness and ease of installation.
  • Excellent electrical insulation properties.
Specifications and Installation
- Stainless steel bolts, nuts, and washers are required for aluminum structures to prevent corrosion. A flat gasket (D1/27) should be placed between different metals.
- Proper grounding is essential when mounting transmitting antennas.
- Supporting pipes with internal feeders are pre-assembled for base-injected antennas. Ceiling or plane holes are necessary for system injection.
- Thermal non-conductive material should be used to insulate wall extensions and ducts.
- Tilting devices can be equipped with detachable spindles made of galvanized or stainless steel, requiring approximately 600 cm of space for operation.
Tilting Mechanism
- The knife contact assembly must be adjusted to fit the female contact spring with a 5 mm space. Initial adjustments require tilting the antenna multiple times to ensure proper component positioning.
- ELNA reserves the right to change specifications without notice.
Maintenance
- Supporting pipes require no maintenance except for routine painting.
- Tilting devices need regular greasing of moving parts and inspection of the sealing cord. The flat gasket rings should be replaced when the tilting device is removed.
Spare Parts Lists
- Detailed lists of spare parts for tilting flanges and spindle assemblies are provided, including order codes and remarks.
- Various supporting pipes and their specifications are listed, indicating height and compatibility with different sections.
Key Components
- Tilting Flanges: K 5, K 5/E, K 8, K 8/E
- Spindle Assemblies: SP/G (galvanized), SP/SS (stainless steel)
- Supporting Pipes: TR 2 R/E, TR 15 R/E, TR 4, TR 4/E, TR 4/K, TR 12, TR 12/E

These stand-off insulators are made for indoor use. They are made of plastic material. The flange has three slotted holes permitting to align the insulator’s cap screw clamping to the direction of the antenna feed line. The cap screw clamping can take copper tubes up to 8 mm diameter. Due to their mechanical properties and the plastic material made of, the stand-off insulators type ST are virtually break-proof. • Easy mounting • No broken ceramics • No maintenance Specification Height Slotted holes Width of cap screw clamping Mounting flange and thermoplastics Cap screw clamping Shaft polyester Max. RH insulators are made of plastic bars with rectangular cross sections of 40 x 15 mm. They have 8.5 mm bore holes on both ends in order to take up standard 5/16“ shackles. The permissible stress effect on these insulators is max. 400 daN at 23° C. RH insulators are resistant to all marine environment, especially to mention the extreme resistance to tension crack. Even under tropical temperatures the resistance against chemicals includes inorganic acids up to a concentration of 20 % alkali, aqueous solutions of inorganic salts, organic acids as well as alcohols, aldehyde, ketone groups, ester,...

This lead-in insulator has been carefully designed to meet severe environmental conditions as one will find on board of seagoing vessels. The P 502 is made of high quality plastic material with outstanding electrical data over a wide frequency range (ceramics change their electrical data due to the applied frequency). The insulating material is UV-resistant, it has null water absorption, and its surface may be damaged (e. g. scratches) without any reduction of the very high insulation value. Special features have been integrated into the design to prevent arcing to ground potential and to eliminate...
