LED-work lights The ELME Spreader Model 818 Pioneer is the first-of-its-kind telescopic top lift spreader for heavy duty use under a gantry at the front of a lift truck, handling laden ISO containers weighing up to 55 tonnes. Pioneer is designed for the high-demand heavy operation user, featuring a sturdy, reinforced design with generous access for maintenance. BUILT TO LAST Pioneer’s design represents a new gantry mounted spreader for heavy duty handling, combining increased structural strength with extended lifetime. The Pioneer spreader is available in the following configurations: Increased capacity: 55-tonne capacity for 20-40ft. Increased durability: 45-tonne capacity for 20-40ft. 45ft lift position: 45-tonne capacity. The fully reinforced structural design enables each configuration to support lifting between the standard lifting positions. *Gantry for the spreader is not included. To be ordered seperately. TWISTLOCK SYSTEM The well-proven twistlock system from previous generations, manufactured in a rugged design, carries all its benefits into the new heavy duty spreaders. 818 Pioneer has hardened ISO quick exchange pendular twistlocks that are hydraulically activated with mechanical interlocking against faulty locking and unlocking. GANTRY MOUNTING WITH MECHANICAL PILE SLOPE Gantry mounting is used for lift trucks, dedicated to container handling only. Four telescopic hangers connect the spreader to the gantry. Gravity assures the level position of the spreader. The hangers will allow the spreader to automatically adapt to containers on trailers or on uneven ground. TELESCOPING, SLEW, REACH AND SIDESHIFT SYSTEM Telescoping is powered by one hydraulic cylinder for each end beam and sideshift is executed by one hydraulic cylinder. The slew and reach motions are possible thanks to two hydraulic cylinders that connect the spreader to the gantry. By powering either one or both cylinders, the slew and reach functions are activated. CONTROL AND PROTECTION SYSTEM The ELME Neuron CAN bus system, designed for maximum robustness, monitors the state of the spreader at all times. Indicator lights advise the operator when the spreader is correctly seated, locked or not locked. Each signal is a precondition for the important protection functions of the spreader such as twistlock activation, telescoping and lift interrupt. Neuron uses J1939 protocol which provides fault code messaging to alert driver and maintenance personnel of possible component failures.
