The unit is powered by rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, which provide excellent power to weight performance. It can also be externally powered and comes with a built in pressure transducer for depth telemetry. The 4380 also comes in a variety of other configurations to help users meet every application. Users can choose an integral +/- 30 degree directional transducer, or a remote omni direction or faired (for towfish mounting) transducer, or remote +/- 30 degree directional transducer. The 4380 series of beacons are extremely flexible and can be user configured in the field to accommodate a wide variety of mission requirements. The 4380 series beacons are programmed via an externally accessible serial port, allowing the end user to quickly and easily adapt the beacon to meet their tracking needs.
