Part I. General Requirements:

2.2 Power Pedestals/Firehouse Enclosures:
  • Main Housing: Constructed of 18 gauge stainless steel with UV-resistant coating, UL listed as type 3R weatherproof.
  • Lighting Assembly: Top housing made of 1/4” thick injection molded resin, UV-resistant, UL listed as type 3R weatherproof.
  • Wiring: Pre-wired at the factory to the load side of the barrier strip.
  • Alarm System: Audible alarm with at least 100 DBA output and strobe light activation.
  • Access Door: Hinged with stainless steel latch, clear resin material, no breakage required for access.
  • Emergency Systems: Optional remote transmitter for emergency services, cabinet height of 43.5".
  • Life Ring: Optional bracket for 24" life ring.
  • Lighting: Equipped with non-metered 13 watt fluorescent light, providing 360-degree dock illumination with a minimum of one foot candle at 15’.

Shall be tested and certified to be in compliance with the B. Shall have the capability to house either a 10 lb. or 20 lb. A, C. Shall provide alarm and strobe light when either fire extinguisher or life ring is removed. D. (Optional) Shall provide bracket to hold 24" life ring and provisions to sound alarm system when life ring is removed. E. Shall have downward 360 degree dock illumination that provides walkway lighting and fire extinguisher lighting. F. (Optional) Shall have provisions to have remote control unit that will automatically call selected services. 2.1 Acceptable Manufacturers — Power Pedestals/Firehouse Marina Power and Lighting 2.2 Power Pedestals/Firehouse Enclosures — General 1. The housing shall be constructed of 18 gauge stainless steel and shall be coated with a UV-resistant polyurethane or optional powder coating. It shall be UL listed as a type 3R weatherproof enclosure. 1. The Firehouse shall be completely pre-wired at the factory to the load side of the barrier strip. D. Alarm System — Visual High Intensity Strobe: 1. The audible alarm system shall have an output of at least 100 DBA, and a strobe light shall simultaneously come on to indicate removal of fire extinguisher or life ring. 1. Door shall be hinged with stainless steel latch. 2. Material shall be clear resin. 3. Access to the fire extinguisher shall not require breakage of 1.
