421QIM Series Quad Input Module Introduction The E-Plex 421QIM is an active low digital input module. It provides 4 channels of digital I/O in an encapsulated unit to detect inputs from equipment that switches to ground. The module has LEDs which will provide local verification of the status of the inputs. Open the catalog to page 1421QIM Series Typical Wiring Diagram Databus wires (E-Plex+ and E-Plex-) should be tied into the clock module or any additional units on the twisted pair bus. The input wires should be connected to the equipment or switches they are sensing. All returns are common inside the module. A single return may be used for all 4 inputs in the case of a rotary switch. All wire is 16AWG (1.3mm2) pre-tinned and stripped 6” (152.4mm) length. All unused wires should be cut and capped.
